{Decorating} Fall trends for beautiful living

schöner wohnen herbsttrends

Hello and welcome to another pre-scheduled post. Today's theme is beautiful living. The turquoise sofa is adorable, and proof that I can bring my favorite color into fall as long as I match it with some fall colored pillows.

The purple color is warm and inviting. Not a color you see too often, but it works here. I don't really care for the glass table.

Now you can have glass bottles in fall hues-how great is that.

Schöner wohnen mit Herbsttrends

Teal is just another ocean color to me, so I like this chair. The color is big in Europe this fall.

More glass vases-this time for your kitchen. Which is your favorite trend?

Fall cozyness-blankets

Kuscheldecke

Today I'm sharing with you cozy winter blankets. One can never have enough blankets! This blanket reminds of grandma's times with home baked cookies and hot cocoa.

Kuscheldecke

A blanket in subway art to match your home decor.

Kuscheldecke

An elegant cashemere blanket.

Kuscheldecke

Animal furr look alike blanket and pillows. I actually had a fake rabbit furr blanket once and it was great for the winter. A pain to wash though. Cheers,

Things to knit this fall

Unsere schönsten Strick-Ideen - strickherbst-waermflasche

Hello friends and readers, I will propably be off line for a while, so I have pre-scheduled some fall decor posts for your enjoyment. I found some knitting inspiration and thought you would like it, too. How about an old fashioned warming bottle cover?

Unsere schönsten Strick-Ideen - strickherbst-tasche

This cozy bag is perfect for winter!

Unsere schönsten Strick-Ideen - strickherbst-korb

This knit covered basket is cozy too. It would also make a great gift basket.

Unsere schönsten Strick-Ideen - strickherbst-kissen

These knitted pillows are just fab! I learned how to knit in elementary school, but haven't really knitted since then. How about yourself? Are you an avid knitter? Cheers,

It's fall y'all!

Hello, how are you? I still can't believe fall is upon us here in New England. It feels good to breathe in the clear, fresh air, see some leaves change, and watch the dogs run in the woods. When you go to the stores they are full of Halloween and fall decor and some bloggers are already preparing for Christmas. How far along are you with your decor and crafts? I'm going to use some stickers and labels on my gifts this year, visit here to win your own customized set of labels for your blog or business.

The local dog park here is great-this is Bella sniffing around. They have a river that flows through it and is great for cooling off the dogs and humans. See all the fallen trees-that is curtesy of Hurricane Lee.

I took a walk around the neighbourhood and snapped some pictures.

These are wild geese that come to the pond every day.

Some flowers are still blooming in the yards. Have you seen my fall posts and Oktoberfest series yet? Be sure to check them out. Linking up here. Cheers,

Happy Friday & 1 year blog anniversary

Hello, thank you for joining us on the last Summer edition of Happy Fridays. As you can see I have posted a new header and changed the colors on my blog to fall coloring. I am looking forward to cooler weather and fall decorating. What are you looking forward to?

Then it will be time to start thinking of a theme for Christmas decorating and how to wrap gifts this year. I will be using labels and home made packaging, enter my giveaway here to win customized free lables for your blog or business.

Another big event is happening right now-my blog is one year old. Time flys when you are having fun! There will be a big belated blog party and huge giveaway once I'm settled in our new home in Germany. That is the other big event-in a few days it will be goodbye USA-hello Germany.

Since it is technically the last day of summer I thought I'd share more photos of the New England shore with you. Have a happy weekend, until next time,

{German Holiday Traditions} Oktoberfest Day 4 - 10 crafts you can make

Oktoberfest-Deko zum Selbermachen - 951025-Oktoberfest-Pappteller-Schild-600-800

Hello, Pfuati, thank you for joining me for another beerfest day! Today I'm sharing 10 DIY crafts you can make for your next Oktoberfest or Garden party. Most of the ideas can be copied even if you don't live in Germany. For the picture above use some small branches and tie them with a pretty ribbon, then stick a paper plate on them with a greeting. You can paint the middle of the plate with chalkpaint, then you can paint on it with chalk.

Oktoberfest-Deko zum Selbermachen - 948373-Oktoberfest-Herzkissen-600-600

I heart this idea-use felt to make this lovely heart. Schatz is the German expression for honey or darling.

Oktoberfest-Deko zum Selbermachen - 948371-Oktoberfest-Herzgirlande-800-600

This garland is sooo cute and held in the traditional Oktoberfest colors of red, white, and blue. Hint hint you can reuse it for patriotic holidays.

Oktoberfest-Deko

You might have some trouble finding a cow bell to paint and use as a key chain, but it is a cute idea nonetheless.

Oktoberfest-Deko zum Selbermachen - 953308_karteInDeutschland-Form_600x600

This map of Germany is a cute centerpiece.

Oktoberfest-Deko

A Gingerbread heart with a name or a saying on it-it can't get more German than that.

Oktoberfest-Deko

Mini marshmellows and gum drops fill this beer mug.

Oktoberfest-Deko zum Selbermachen - 948375-Oktoberfest-Blumendeko-im-Flaschenkorb-600-600

Just add flowers, ribbon, and bottles to fill up this carrier for an easy centerpiece.

Oktoberfest-Deko zum Selbermachen - 950999-Oktoberfest-Serviettendeko-Tischdecke-800-600

These cute beer glasses are actually repurposed mustard jars. Way cute tablesetting.

Oktoberfest-Deko zum Selbermachen - 951002-Oktoberfest-Girlande-600-600

Isn't this pretzel tree original? I love all ideas - I hope you found something you can use for your next party. You can still enter my UPrinting giveaway here. Linking here.

{German Holiday Traditions} Oktoberfest Day 3 - the traditions

On the first Sunday of the fest traditional and hunting groups parade through Munich to end up at the
Oktoberfest grounds.

Groups from all over Germany travel to this event. It is televised nationwide, and thousands roam the streets of Munich to watch!

On opening day the Munich dignitaries and beer tent and brewery owners have their own parade through Munich, cumulating at the Oktoberfest grounds for the grand opening.

Each brewery has their own decked out horse carriage.

The beer tent proprietors also arrive in a decked out carriage.

Below a 'Spielmannszug' (playing man train, or music band), marches and plays music during the parade. The placement of bands is strategic, so they all can be heard individually.

I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into traditional Oktoberfest parades!
