Christmas wreath and cross - DIY

Hello folks, thanks for stopping by. Today I will show you two items-a cross and a wreath. The cross is made of cinnamon sticks and wrapped together with ribbon. I love it.

This wreath was a labor of love-it started out as a straw wreath my mother gave me last Christmas. I've been moving it around for a year, trying to figure out where to hang it (it is huge). I finally decided I will use it this season. I wrapped burlap around it to give it a good base.

The vintage doilies are mod podged on. I let it dry for 24 hrs before gluing the other embellishments on. The silver star I made out of wooden cloth pins-painted them and added glitter. The heart looking thingy is from a palm tree. Spray painted that as well.

The xmas sign and the name sign are cardboard letters, painted white, and covered in glitter. I glued them on using Fabri-Tac. I used the bells on the ribbon to hang the wreath. I put it on my front door. What do you think? I really adore it. Happy Holidays, linking up at Under the table and dreaming, tipjunkie, Susan's and here. Cheers,

Dogs in the snow-snapshots

Hello everyone, today I'm sharing a few snapshots of my dogs in the snow. We got hammered with about 8 in. the other day. That is more snow than we had in the last few years all together. Here is my sleepy village-view from my computer room.

Here is Feger, 16 yrs old.

Spike and Bella taking a break from play.

Here they are running in the snow. You can see the fields behind the house are snow covered. Meanwhile the snow has melted and we have temp's in the 40's.
How has the weather been in your part of the world?

Rustic Winter Fire Place & Mantel

Hello, it's almost Christmas. We've got the fire place going and the mantel all decked out. This is the coziest time of the year. I can't wait for Christmas in front of the fire place.

In keeping with our silver & white theme we used candles and deers to accent the rustic fire place. I made the Believe banner. The mirror is an antique from a flea market. The wood is collected from walks with the dog.  Happiest of Holidays to you! Cheers,

Advent Wreath

Happy 3. Advent! Today I'm sharing our Advent Wreath-self made. Our local flower store has an Advent display on the last Sunday in November, and you can go and get inspired or buy pre-made items.
They also give you the option to put together your own wreath, which is what we did.

We chose a moss wreath and silver candles to go with our silver and white color scheme. The deer are felt and I glued them on the wreath.

Dried potpourri items round of this ensamble. I love it-what do you think?
Happy Holidays!

Our Christmas Tree-a first glimpse

Hello everyone, today I will show you a few pictures of our Christmas tree. I added some more things to it since these photos were taken, I just didn't take any pictures yet.

Our theme this year is white and silver. We made or touched up all ornaments ourselves. The tree looked absolutely awful in the German house-apparantly ceilings are higher here than in the US. In the US the tree touched the ceiling, whereas here it looked small and lost. I had to prop it up on a side table - I think it turned out well.

Santa sits on our antique German sled. He adds a pop of Christmas red to the display. The birch pieces we found on walks. The big latern we got a the German version of the dollar store as well as the lights and the candles. The big wrought iron candle stand I got from my landlord. Talk about repurposing stuff.

The letters are cardboard cut outs, I painted them white and then sprinkled glitter on them. I will post a tutorial soon.

We also spray painted the stars, bulbs, and deers silver. It is amazing what you can do with paint, I can't say it enough. Linking up here: Under the Table and Dreaming, Clean&Scentsible, Susan's, Stone Gable.
Cheers,
